Burnley facing delays to welcome new signing Johann Berg Gudmundsson

Burnley are ready to welcome Johann Berg Gudmundsson from Charlton Athletic next week.

The Daily Echo says Charlton accepted a bid of £2.5million plus up to a further £1million in add-ons for the 25-year-old on Tuesday night and the player has now agreed personal terms.

But with Gudmundsson having only finished his Euro 2016 campaign with surprise package Iceland on Sunday, time is running out for the deal to be completed before Sean Dyche's side jet off to their training camp in Évian-les-Bains on Monday.

Iceland's players returned to the capital Reykjavik on Monday and most will now enjoy a break before they return to pre-season training with their respective clubs.

That may mean the deal isn't tied up until Burnley are back from their base on the shore of Lake Geneva on Saturday, July 16.
