Burnley have shown an interest in signing Eibar midfielder Gonzalo Escalante.
The Argentine played a key role in helping guide the Basque club to a 10th placed finish in La Liga last season.
Sky Sports understands that the Clarets have been tracking the 24-year old for over a year.
A deal worth £6m would likely been enough to secure Escalante.
