Burnley defender Mee relishing Lukaku showdown

Burnley defender Ben Mee is up for his clash with Everton striker Romelu Lukaku this weekend.

Mee impressed against Middlesbrough's Rudy Gestede last time out as he helped the Clarets to a ninth clean sheet of the campaign and the 27-year-old is eager to repeat the trick against Everton's 23-goal striker Romelu Lukaku this weekend.

“He's a top player and a top goalscorer so we'll have to try and keep him quiet," Mee told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph of the challenge facing him and his teammates.

“I'm sure we'll do that because we've come up against him before and we've come up against many strikers that are in his category and in his league so it'll be a good challenge for us.

“It's funny because you see the size of me but I like to get involved and mix it a little bit with the taller lads. It's part of the game and they try to find a way to gain the advantage. Fortunately it doesn't always work out like that which is nice.

“You've got to be clever against big lads and I've learned more and more as I've played the game and got that experience. You get a knack for doing things like that."
