Derby County are edging closer to secure the services of defender Jason Shackell.

Derby have been involved in a protracted round of negotiation with Burnley over defender Jason Shackell but it finally looks like the Rams will be able to land the services of their top target.

The Lancashire Telegraph have claimed that Derby are on the verge of signing Shackell and manager Paul Clement has stated that he is confident of pulling off the deal soon.

Clement said: "It's ongoing. Hopefully it can be brought to a conclusion sooner rather than later."
