Burnley boss Brian Laws says Sir Alex Ferguson owes his success at Manchester United to him!
Fergie was famously on the brink of the sack when he came up against Nottingham Forest in an FA Cup third-round tie in January 1990.
But it was Laws' stray 'hospital' pass that was intercepted by Lee Martin and led to the only goal of the game, scored by Mark Robins .
The rest, as they say, is history but the new Turf Moor manager feels Fergie should remember that favour when they go head-to-head as bosses today.
Laws said: "Yes, I was part of that Forest team - I think Sir Alex owes me one.
"It was my hospital pass that eventually got them the win. I was distraught that day but history is fantastic.
"I remember Alex Ferguson being under immense pressure but look what's happened since.
"They get a positive result and now he is the best manager in the world bar none.
"I haven't heard from him since I got this job but I'm looking forward to catching up with him and Mickey Phelan after Saturday's game."
