Burnley boss Howe says QPR, Everton target Eagles not for sale

Burnley boss Eddie Howe insists winger Chris Eagles is not for sale.

The former Manchester United forward has been linked with several Premier League clubs, with QPR, Everton and Swansea City all reported to be keen.

Howe insists Eagles is going nowhere, though, and has also played down speculation suggesting Portsmouth have lodged a bid for fit-again striker Martin Paterson.

"There's always people circling, but there is no new news regarding any of our players," he told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"I've said all along I want to keep the squad together, keep our best players, and hopefully we can do that and bring in some new ones the other way."
