Burnley boss Sean Dyche is ready to bid for Aston Villa midfielder Ashley Westwood.
The Mirror says Dyche wants Westwood to replace Joey Barton in the Clarets midfield and will offer Villa £6million for the former Crewe midfielder.
Westwood is keen to return to the Premier League, even though he signed a five-year deal worth £40,000-a-week with Villa last August.
The 26-year-old scored two goals - both in the same game - last season in 37 appearances as an abject Villa were relegated.
New Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo will be unwilling to lose Westwood but considering the generous nature of the offer the situation may be out of his hands.
