Burnley boss Dyche: Fredrik Ulvestad has joined for the long-term

Burnley boss Sean Dyche says he'll hold back new signing Fredrik Ulvestad.

The former Aalesunds midfielder joined Burnley this week.

"We have been light in midfield with the injury to Dean Marney, although that wasn't the reason Freddie came in, because if it was he would have to operate immediately and we think there is more to come going forward," said Dyche.

"You can't put a timeline on it, if he's needed this season and we think he's ready then that's different, but he's just in the building a couple of weeks so we'll see how he continues to get used to being here.

"He's a player that we had the fortune of him working with us for two weeks.

"We were lucky enough to get him in, he wanted to come in. It's a good way of doing business because we get to have a look at him, he gets to have a look at us.

"He fitted in straight away. That was the key thing.

"Sometimes players who are with you are not part of the group and they look that way, but he fitted in straight away."
