Burnley boss Dyche delighted with dominant win over Blackpool

Burnley boss Sean Dyche was delighted with their 1-0 win over friendly opponents Blackpool.

Marvin Sordell grabbed the winner for his new club.

Dyche sympathised with the position the manager Jose Riga was in.

He told burnleyfootballclub.com: "To be fair to Jose, he has had to try and mould a team together very quickly. Players have come in this week. I have empathy for him as I've also had to work with limited resources and squads, not to that extent I must add.

"I didn't expect them to come out all guns blazing and it's fair to say that they were on the back foot rather than the front foot.

"We dominated with the ball but then you have to open teams up and make chances to score goals. It took its time, but I think it's fair to say we were pretty dominant.

"We showed good habits again and came away worthy winners.

"We'll have to come up against different formations this season and today was a challenge away from home.

"I don't think for one minute that people will be scared of Burnley Football Club but what I am suggesting is that away from home, teams may sit off us.

"So it is important our players feel that challenge and they did that today."
