Burnley boss Brian Laws has revealed that defender Clarke Carlisle did not suffer a broken toe against Aston Villa. The centre-half took a blow to his foot in the second-half and first fears were that the 30-year-old had received a serious injury.
However, X-rays have shown that the knock will not keep Carlisle on the sidelines, much to the relief of Laws.
"He got a real kick on it about an hour into the game but still came through the last half-hour," the Clarets boss told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.
"He was feeling it a bit afterwards but nothing is broken or damaged.
"We've had enough injuries."
