Southampton boss George Burley has backed Danny Guthrie to be a big hit at Bolton Wanderers.

Bolton snapped up the Liverpool midfielder last week and Burley, who had the player on a ten-week loan last season, said: "Danny did very well for us.

"It shows that he improved with us and now has a chance in the Premiership.

"He is a smashing lad and I am pleased for him. I am sure he will do well for Bolton."
