Bundesliga suits Japanese style of play - Hertha's Hosogai

Hertha Berlin's Hajime Hosogai believes the German Bundesliga is perfectly suited to Japanese players.

The 27-year old Blue Samurai midfielder has been in Germany's top flight since joining Bayer Leverkusen from Urawa Reds in 2011 before moving on to Hertha last year.

Hosogai is joined by the likes of Shinji Okazaki (FSV Mainz), Atsuto Uchida (Schalke), Makoto Hasebe and Hiroshi Kiyotake (both FC Nurnberg), Hiroki Sakai (Hannover 96), Takashi Inui (Eintracht Frankfurt) and Gotoku Sakai (VfB Stuttgart) in the Bundesliga and feels they are all suited in Germany.

"You can measure up to many great players each week," he said.

"Many Japanese players have found their way here, and that also shows how our style of play appeals to the Bundesliga. Because of this, the Bundesliga is becoming increasingly popular in Japan."

Hosogai's Hertha came up against Nurnberg on the weekend but Kiyotake's side (Hasebe is out injured) had the last laugh with a 3-1 away win.
