Buffon senses new respect for Juventus

Gigi Buffon feels Juventus have won new respect after an impressive first-half of the season.

The Bianconeri ended 2011 as joint Serie A leaders with Milan and are still unbeaten, which is a remarkable achievement for a club that finished seventh for two years in a row.

"First of all we wanted to be respected again by fans and opponents, which I think we achieved. We never said going into the season that the Scudetto was our objective," the goalkeeper told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

"I am very happy that Borriello has arrived. Marco will be hungry to prove Roma made a mistake in letting him go. He will certainly be an extra weapon for the team."
