Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon would welcome Werder Bremen star Diego to the club next season. Asked how coach Claudio Ranieri will fit Diego into his system, Buffon said: "I am happy to be a player because some issues must be solved by the coach.

"The only thing I can say is that players who can win things for a team are rare. If there is one available, the financial effort should be made.

"For now, the only players I have seen who are like that are Maradona, Pele and Platini. So, if Diego is at that level, I answer 'yes' bring him to Juve."
