Juventus goalkeeper Gigi Buffon deflected praise to Alessandro del Piero after they both starred in victory over Inter Milan.

Buffon performed heroics in the first half before Martin Caceres and Del Piero scored the winning goals.

He said: "Inter played very well for 60 minutes and Claudio Ranieri put us under a lot of pressure. I am very happy for Del Piero, who obviously deserves this goal.

"He is a great champion, but I'd like to point out how wonderfully professional Ale has been this year. He accepted this role and never made any trouble or controversy, working hard in training and repaying the Coach when called upon."
