Gigi Buffon has called on Juventus not to seek excuses for their defeat at AC Milan.

It was Juve's first Serie A away defeat in 18 months, since the 1-0 in Parma on May 15 2011.

"So much has happened in the last year and a half. If we want to find an excuse for this defeat, then we can, but the truth is that we deserved to lose this time.

"Being self-critical is the best way to educate people. You can never know what the real reasons are behind a defeat, but something was missing tonight in many aspects and it was visible.

"In the locker room we will now have to evaluate and analyse what went wrong."
