Buddle puts his name forward for USA team with Ingolstadt brace

Edson Buddle again put his name in the mix for the USA national team by scoring a double for FC Ingolstadt in the German 2.Bundesliga on the weekend.

The 30-year old former LA Galaxy star struck in the ninth and 20th minutes both with top class finishes on his right then left foot but the game ended in disappointment as Ingolstadt were beaten 5-3 by VfL Bochum who scored four times in the second half to complete a brilliant comeback.

From a personal point of view, Buddle will be delighted he was able to again get on the scoresheet following his double against Dynamo Dresden two weeks ago. He now has five goals from 10 league appearances this season but was not selected by Juergen Klinsmann for matches against Honduras and Ecuador beginning this weekend.
