Buckle takes up Cheltenham vacancy

League Two Cheltenham have appointed ex-Bristol Rovers boss Paul Buckle as their new manager on a 12-month rolling deal. Buckle has been working as a technical director in the United States since quitting as Luton boss last year.

He flew back to England on Wednesday to be unveiled by Cheltenham and said on his arrival: "It's been a whirlwind 24 hours, that's for sure.

"Things have moved very quickly. I had other offers in the States, when I made my mind up to go back into management, but after speaking to the chairman this job moved right to the top of the list.

"I knew in my gut that this was right."
