Bryan Ruiz scores in Fulham win for Costa Rica homecoming

Fulham opened their Costa Rica tour with a 3-0 friendly win at CS Cartagines.

Bryan Ruiz made a goalscoring return to Costa Rica as Fulham began their tour in style with a convincing victory.

The Costa Rica national team captain seized his chance to score against domestic opposition for the first time since leaving hometown club L.D. Alajuelense seven years ago, and received a standing ovation for his efforts.

Dimitar Berbatov had put the Whites in the driving seat with a first-half double, one close-range poacher's effort and one trademark nonchalant penalty, before Martin Jol rang the changes.
