PSV Eindhoven defender Jeffrey Bruma hopes they can keep hold of Karim Rekik next season.

Rekik is on-loan this term from Manchester City and the defender has admitted he doesn't expect to return to the Eredivisie.

But Bruma believes playing in the Champions League could convince City to extend Rekik's loan for another year.

The former Chelsea defender declared: "With the Champions League, (sports director) Marcel Brands has a nice trump card.

"That is an attractive prospect for many players and often decisive in their choice."
