Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce says it's the club spirit that is the secret to their success.
"It's a prerequisite that when you come into work here that you enjoy it and you help me create that kind of environment," he told the Daily Mail.
"People around me do that. Eric Black, Nigel Spink, John Benson, Keith Bertschin. Grounded, honest lads. If it was miserable here, I'd hate it.
"I've got to have that atmosphere. It's essential to me. There's a good camaraderie. We have to create it. We haven't got the most salubrious of surroundings. Emile Heskey, bless him, paid for the club television in the canteen. Nice touch but it wasn't the greatest brand. Well, it wasn't until someone printed off the word 'Sony' and stuck it to the set with Sellotape!
"We're not mob-handed here at Wigan. The truth is, I don't want us to be. I see other managers talking about psychologists, nutritionists and ProZone. We have got those things - to a degree - but you can get bogged down with it all. The most important tools I have in this trade are my eyes. As you get older you begin to trust them a little bit more."
