Wigan Athletic boss Steve Bruce has told Newcastle United midfielder Charles N'Zogbia he's making the right choice.
N'Zogbia has previously voiced his desire to play for a top-four team and Bruce has urged the 22-year-old to follow in the footsteps of Wilson Palacios and Emile Heskey and use Wigan as a stepping stone.
"A lot of people have done that, used Wigan as a platform - that's the way we go about trying to entice people to come to us," he said.
"We're not going to try and sell (Wigan), I'm going to give him the truth, like we normally do and, if he wants to play for Arsenal, Tottenham, then come and be a big success for Wigan, like Palacios has done, Emile Heskey's done.
"There have been a lot who've used our club to further their career. We're realistic enough, and the chairman's realistic enough, to know that that's the way we go about it.
"I've seen his comments, we all want to play for Manchester United and Liverpool and all the rest of it; use us as a platform to get there."
