Bruce: Tonight among the biggest in Hull history

Hull City boss Steve Bruce is hoping for a "special night" against Europa League opponents AC Trencin. Bruce has called on his Hull to make this evening's sold-out clash with AS Trencin the first of many "special" European nights at the KC Stadium this season.

"I think it would have to be one of the big games in the club's history," he said. "There were big games to get into the FA Cup final but the club is taking steps where we've never been before.

"Let's go and enjoy it. If we can progress into the group stages, we could pick out one or two glamour clubs of Europe.

"It will only mean something if we can get through. It would be a damp squib if it ends up being a miserable night.

"When you look back on your career when it's finished you remember those nights in Europe. They're a bit special if you can go further in the competition but we've got to win this one first."
