Steve Bruce has thanked Sunderland's travelling fans for their support in the 1-1 draw at Wigan Athletic.
The Black Cats had to battle for much of the game with ten men due to Lee Cattermole's dismissal.
Bruce told safc.com: "If you think about what happened in the game especially after Lee's sending off we would have been happy with a point.
"I'd just like to say personally a big thanks to the supporters who were magnificent today. The team responded to them.
"There was a great atmosphere today, the supporters made it. It was great to see."
