Hull City boss Steve Bruce is delighted with the business the club did on transfer deadline day. The Tigers took Newcastle winger Hatem Ben Arfa on loan and spent a club-record £10m on Uruguay striker Abel Hernandez.
They also recruited midfielders Mohamed Diame and Gaston Ramirez from West Ham and Southampton respectively.
"I think we've done some fantastic business and it's up to me now to make sure they gel and get up and running again," he told BBC Radio Humberside.
He added: "Hernandez is going to play up front for Uruguay in their upcoming friendlies and they're ranked sixth in the world.
"Mohamed has got a lot of experience having played in this league for six years and is the Senegal captain.
"Things haven't quite worked out for Ramirez at Southampton so far but he is very skilful and then you have the icing on the cake which is Hatem. He brings that little bit of flair and creativity that every team needs."
They were knocked out of the Europa League last week, and Bruce felt it was important to bring in more players.
"It seems like large numbers but if you look at how many players have gone out then we tally up with where we were," he said.
"We have to keep trying to move upwards."
