Bruce running out of Sunderland keepers

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce may have to field third-choice goalkeeper Trevor Carson for the visit of Hull City at the weekend. Number one Craig Gordon failed a fitness test on Wednesday and subsequently missed Scotland's 1-0 defeat to Holland with a thigh injury.

Marton Fulop also missed out on Hungary's two World Cup qualifiers during the international break with an ongoing heel problem, making him a doubt for the Tigers clash.

"All those things are a worry, there's no doubt about that," the Black Cats boss told the Sunderland Echo.

"But we just have to get on with it because pretty much every Premier League manager is in the same boat and will be facing similar concerns.

"It's the goalkeeping position that's the area which is the most in our mind but it's likely to be a case of leaving a lot of things to the last minute before being able to make some decisions.

"Even so, we've still got a squad here that should allow us to put out a very strong side, regardless of any injuries for the visit of Hull."
