Wigan boss Steve Bruce is toying with the idea of resting Egyptian striker Mido against Chelsea this weekend despite a lack of firepower up forward.
The Latics have struggled for scoring opportunities since the departures of Emile Heskey and Wilson Palacios but Bruce says he does not want to run the risk of burning Mido out.
"Mido is another option for Saturday, although I'm also going to look at the fact we've got two games in five days," he told the Wigan Evening Post.
"The last time we were in this situation, he didn't quite manage it. Since the Fulham game, we have got him in good shape and we'll see how he is nearer to the weekend.
"It might be too much asking him to play Saturday and Wednesday. That might sound ridiculous to some, and I can understand them thinking that."
