Hull City boss Steve Bruce is excited about the quality of his current squad.
Shane Long struck on his home debut in their draw with Tottenham on Saturday.
Bruce told Absolute Radio: "He's given us something we hadn't had before. He's given us that pace to go in behind. And the goal sums him up. Jelavic I thought as well was terrific and a handful and he'll get better. But Jelavic has flicked it on and Long, once he's through he's one of them ones where he's expected to run away from them and a great finished. We were delighted that we've got them.
"We're delighted we've got the two of them because I think that will give us the edge we want. I mean we're disappointed here that we haven't beaten top. We're just out the Championship six months ago. So to have Jelavic and Long and people like that and Huddleston, and Livermore and you can see how the squad's took shape over the short period of time. So we've given ourselves a wonderful chance going into February so let's hope we can continue on."
Bruce was speaking on Absolute Radio's Rock 'N' Roll Football Show with Ian Wright, Saturdays from 5pm. For more, visit absoluteradio.co.uk/football
