Bruce admits disappointment as Hull held by Sunderland

Steve Bruce suggests his Hull City felt an element of disappointment after drawing 1-1 with Sunderland on Tuesday night.

The Tigers scored first through star January signing Dame N'Doye before conceding to Jack Rodwell with just over 10 minutes to go in what could be labelled a missed opportunity.

Bruce knows a point is better nothing at this stage of the season but was still dissatisfied with the result after Hull had the better of the chances at the KC Stadium.

"We don't know if his is a disappointing result because it could be the point that keeps us up," Bruce told Sky Sports.

"We're disappointed because we had the best opportunities. We had some really good opportunities to put the game to bed.

"When you've got those chances you've got to take them at this level. It always difficult to create a number of chances and we've had enough today to win the match that's for certain.

"I don't think we let them back into the game I just think we needed to score the second goal and we didn't and were disappointed with their goal.

"We could have done better and it's been a frustrating night for us because we played very well for large patches but the big chances didn't quite go our way."
