Bruce admits Camara can have Wigan future

Steve Bruce has admitted that Senegal international striker Henri Camara could still have a future at Wigan.

The 31-year-old, who was former boss Paul Jewell's club record £3.1million signing from Wolves in August, 2005, looked destined to be on his way out of the JJB Stadium this summer after a disappointing loan spell at Premier League rivals West Ham last season.

However, despite interest from French giants Marseille, Camara revealed that he wanted to stay in England. And Latics boss Bruce has now suggested that the player could still be in his plans going into the new Premiership campaign in August.

He told the Evening Post: "Since becoming manager here I've never clapped eyes on Henri because he was at West Ham.

"If needs be, he can come back here. If that happens I will sit down and talk with the lad.

"Henri is a player I've always quite liked when watching him from afar, but obviously I've not seen him here.

"We'll see what happens over the summer and take things from there."
