Bruce admits Birmingham selection headache

Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce admits his deep squad is giving him selection headaches.

"Parnaby for one can feel very disappointed," said Bruce after victory over Bolton. "He was asked to play left-back in the last game, which isn't really his position.

"I wanted Queudrue in there again as he gives us that balance, and he has a great delivery with his left foot.

"Kelly has arguably been our best defender all season and I thought he was superb, he had a tough ask against Diouf but he handled him really well and didn't give him a kick.

"Jaidi has been marvellous for us but I felt by moving [Johan] Djourou back from midfield he would counter what Bolton had, the pace and movement of Anelka, who had one of his quieter days as it turned out.

"We played very well with that system at Chelsea, with [Olivier] Kapo up top. It is Kapo's best position. The balance of it was very decent.

"We kept on hammering home how important it was to keep a clean sheet and the defence was excellent.

"I disappointed one or two players, and I can understand their frustration, but I did it for a reason - to try and win a football match, and we came through it."
