Craig Brown says he would have no problems in becoming Motherwell boss full-time after seeing his temporary charges romp to a 3-0 win over Kilmarnock. This was his first match in full control of team affairs and he immediately halted a run of five successive defeats with the club's first victory since October.
"We're not looking to hold anyone to ransom," Brown said.
"If you're genuinely wanted by the club officials and the players and the fans, it would be hard to say no."
He added: "The chairman is still cruising his yacht - or somebody's yacht in New Zealand.
"I believe he's due back next week.
"We've been told to operate as though we were in the management role.
"We're not begging for a contract or anything.
"If they offer us one, we're pleased. If they don't, we can understand.
"He'll have had 100 applications, I'm sure."
