Brown tribute to Sunderland fans after Wembley trip

Sunderland defender Wes Brown paid tribute to travelling fans after their Capital One Cup final defeat to Manchester City.

Gus Poyet's side were backed by more than 30,000 fans and Brown certainly felt their presence right from the get-go.

"The crowd were fantastic from the moment we walked out for the warm up and we heard them the whole way through the game," he told SAFSee.

"They're great supporters and they kept going the whole way through the game.

"Believe me when I tell you that it does give us a big lift when we're out there playing.

You never know, if we did a few things differently it could have happened, but it wasn't meant to be."
