Brown points finger at negative atmosphere for Leeds home form

Leeds United midfielder Michael Brown blames the negative atmosphere at Elland Road for the club's poor Championship home form. The Whites have lost on nine occasions in front of their own fans this season and Brown feels the large number of supporters' protests on matchdays has had a detrimental effect on the players.

Brown said: "There's lots of things we're just not doing right at the moment. It's a shame, we've got a good bunch of players, a good team, good lads, but we certainly have to have a bit more grit and determination not to roll over.

"I think our home form is one reason. Once we go one behind you can hear the place go flat and I think that kills us.

"It's very difficult because we know the fans' frustration because they want success at the club and the frustration has gone on now for a long time and we've got to try and change that as a group and as a club and have everybody together. It's going to take a bit of time to do that."

Brown added: "The group we've got, it's been happening for a while. When I came in I never thought it was a positive environment. I could see it was very difficult because at every home game - and we had very young players on the pitch - there would be a protest about the club and that goes on to the players straight away."
