Hull City boss Phil Brown praised his players after their fight-back at Bolton Wanderers.

Wanderers looked comfortable after Ivan Klasnic's 20th-minute goal and Kevin Davies' second-half header.

However, Stephen Hunt nodded in from close-range to spread panic in a defence without a clean sheet all season and the Republic of Ireland international's cross-shot produced the equaliser 12 minutes from time.

Brown admitted it took his side some time to get going and then, just when they were into their stride, goalkeeper Boaz Myhill's misjudgement in coming for a Paul Robinson free-kick cost them a second goal.

"When the [first] goal went in it pricked our conscience a little bit," said the Tigers boss.

"After the first 20 minutes we didn't look like we had any legs in the team. But we finished the half quite strongly and started the second strongly but found ourselves 2-0 down after a mistake.

"One of their team-mates dropped a clanger but they showed their spirit. At 2-0 down you are not staring into the abyss you are staring at ways and means of getting back into the game.

"The team spirit and commitment of these players has been epitomised by the performance after the second goal went in and the boys deserved to get something from the game.

"On another day we would have got three points but I'm pleased with a point."
