Sunderland defender Wes Brown was delighted with his performance in their 1-1 draw at Liverpool.
The former Manchester United man was happy with his own display - a performance hailed as "superb" by manager Steve Bruce.
"Their front two are very different players - Carroll is big and strong while Suarez is very tricky," Brown told safc.com.
"All in all we dealt with it very well.
"This is only my third 90 minutes since coming to the club and I felt it a bit in the last 10 minutes. But the more I play, the better I'll get."
