Crystal Palace management are excited by what manager Tony Pulis can offer the club.
Pulis has signed a contract until the summer of 2016.
And co-chairman Stephen Browett is backing their new manager - never relegated during a 21-year career in the dugout - to be a huge hit.
He told the South London Press: "There is no other manager available who has anything like the experience Tony Pulis has of keeping a club the size of Palace in the Premier League.
"He took Stoke up from the Championship. Not only did he keep them in it but he also didn't finish below 14th and got them to an FA Cup final and into the Europa League.
"There is absolutely no reason he can't have the same success at Crystal Palace because we are a club with similar - if not more potential - than Stoke."
