The brother and agent of Mauro Zarate has played down talk of the striker leaving Lazio in January.

Rival agents have claimed serious interest from Tottenham in the Argentine.

But Sergio Zarate told TMW: "Tottenham? I read the newspapers, I have not heard anything directly because I have not talked to anyone.

"The last time I spoke with Mauro, he had no problem, does not want to leave Lazio, has a contract, wants to stay with the Biancoceleste."
