Fox Sports Latin America and ESPN International have secured the rights to the Uefa Champions League and Uefa Europa League across Latin America and the Caribbean until 2017/18, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The new deal, which sees both broadcasters continue as Uefa partners in the region, runs for three years, starting in 2015/16.
Rights to the Uefa Super Cup, the annual match between the Champions League and Europa League winners, are also included.
"Fox Sports has enjoyed its partnership with Uefa since 2009 and we are very happy to continue this partnership through at least 2018," said Francisco Pazmiño, a senior vice president for programming and acquisitions at Fox Sports Latin America.
"The Uefa Champions League and Uefa Europa League provide our viewers with the highest level of club competition in Europe. We are especially excited about making the Uefa competitions available to our viewers on all Fox Sports platforms so that Uefa fans can view the matches anytime and on any device they choose."
ESPN International's senior vice president of international programming Tim Bunnell added: "This renewal underscores our ongoing commitment to always deliver world-class content to our fans across Latin America and the Caribbean."
The two broadcasters will share the rights but continue to simulcast the Champions League and Europa League finals, plus the Super Cup each year.
