Swansea City's Leon Britton believes Joe Allen could be keen on a return to the club.

The 25-year-old midfielder has been largely underwhelming since joining Liverpool from the Swans in 2012 and may be back at the Liberty Stadium before too long according to his former teammate.

"He's maybe had a bit of a tough time at Liverpool with some of the fans, but he's played well recently," Britton told talkSPORT.

"He's a very good player. I know he misses Swansea and home so it'll be interesting to see what happens because I know his contract's running out."

Wales international Allen has made 20 appearances in all competitions for the Reds this season.
