Britton frustrated as Swansea go down to Valencia

Leon Britton admitted there was an element of frustration in Swansea City's 1-0 loss to Valencia on Thursday night.

The Swans dropped their first match of the Europa League group stage to see a little twist in their progression chances surface.

Midfielder Britton felt it was a great opportunity to produce a victory which would have seen them move straight through to the Round of 32 but instead they have ensure they do not lose at St Gallen on December 12 and hope Valencia avoid defeat to Kuban Krasnodar on the same date.

"We weren't at our best tonight, our passing wasn't great, but you've got to give them credit as well. They didn't let us get into our rhythm," he told ITV4.

"They're a good side, they're a team with a lot of Champions League experience, but they are in a bit of a difficult time so we're disappointed we didn't capitalise on that."

Britton added: "It's not all doom and gloom, we've still got the opportunity when we go to Switzerland. It's still in our hands.

"Obviously we wanted to do the job tonight in front of our fans, but we have to do it the difficult way now. Every game's a learning experience."
