Britton delighted with new Swansea deal

Leon Britton is happy with his lot at Swansea City.

The midfielder recently signed a new deal which ties him to Swansea until 2016.

"It will take me to 33-34," he said. "Swansea are in such a strong position, their best ever, and can attract better players. It's great to know the club think I can play a part well into my 30s.

"I don't want to go anywhere else and I'm delighted to get this new contract, which was very easy to negotiate.

"The last 18 months to two years is the best football I've played. When you come up against better players, people take more notice, but I think I have improved over the last two or three years.

"I've gained more confidence and experience through playing against better players. We are in the top half of the league and have just won our first major trophy and got into Europe, so I don't think Swansea are a small club.

"A lot of people are talking about Swansea and how well we are playing. It's great to see the club being put on the map."
