Britton has urged the team to close ranks during the toughest period in the club’s recent history.
He said: “We need to make sure we all stay together in this difficult period.
“Of course the place isn’t as bouncing during the week as it would be if we had won a run of games. So you just have to keep your chin up.
“It’s unusual for us to hit a bad run of form but we need to stick together as a club, not only the players but the coaching staff and the fans and make sure we get out of this.
“All the boys are disappointed with our form but we have to pick ourselves up and move on to the next game.”
