Britton admits January signings needed to ensure Swansea survival

Leon Britton is resigned to the fact that January signings may be the only thing that can keep Swansea in the Premier League.

Taking over as caretaker manager following the sacking of Paul Clement, Britton presided over a dismal 5-0 defeat by Liverpool on Boxing Day.

And he believes the club needs reinforcements if they want to avoid dropping down into the Championship for next season.

"We have January coming up," Britton said. "I am sure there will be some fresh faces coming in and we need that.

"Last January, the club brought some players in who gave us a big boost in the second half of last season and doing something similar will be important this year.

"We have to try to lift the place by bringing some fresh faces into the squad."
