Bristol City plan to hit West Ham United with a compo claim if Diafra Sakho is banned by FIFA.
The Senegalese FA have demanded Sakho be banned until the Africa Cup of Nations is over after pulling out of their squad citing a back injury.
Sakho netted the winner at Cup opponents Bristol City last week, but was left out of defeat to Liverpool on Saturday with the Hammers concerned over FIFA action.
The Daily Mail says Bristol City will look for in the region of £250,000 if it is deemed that Sakho should not have played against them.
They would have won £90,000 in prize money for progressing to the fifth round and would have been set to receive far more from gate receipts. West Ham drew West Bromwich Albion in the next round.
