Bristol City have confirmed they're in talks with free agent David James.
The released Portsmouth goalkeeper is a confirmed target for Sunderland and Celtic.
A City spokesperson said: "We've been in touch with David James' agent and offered him a one-year deal. When we heard he had pulled out of talks with Celtic we made a move.
"We have heard he wants to remain in the West Country. If location is more important to him than money then we are in with a chance."
