Bristol City keeper James: I will play in Premier League again

Bristol City goalkeeper David James insists Premier League fans haven't seen the last of him.

Despite being England's No1 in the World Cup, he has chosen the second tier of English football this season after answering a 'cheeky' call from City boss Steve Coppell.

James said: "There were opportunities in the Premier League and in Scotland but Bristol City did well last season and there is the chance to be successful here.

"Going from the World Cup to here? That's football. But I haven't come for an easy ride, if you think that, you'll end up getting beat.

"It's going to be a tough season and I'm up for it.

"I'd rather battle for promotion and the excitement that goes with it, than live a mid-table Premier League existence.

"We'll save that for us next season, once we've gone up!"
