Bristol City chairman Steve Lansdown has dismissed a link with Wigan Athletic for Marvin Elliott.

Lansdown told the Bristol Evening Post: "Newspapers are always speculating about players and that's all this is. I've certainly not heard anything from Wigan.

"I wouldn't be surprised if Premier League clubs started looking at some of our players towards the end of the transfer window, because that is what happens.

"But there are no offers in for any of our players at the moment and we hope that's the way things will stay."
