Bristol City to appoint new manager next week

Bristol City chairman David Sexstone has confirmed the club will appoint a new manager by next week.

The Robins sacked Keith Millen a week ago following their poor beginning to the Championship season and Sexstone insists the Ashton Gate outfit will be patient in finalising who will take the reins.

"It could well be (next week before an appointment is made)," said the City chairman.

"But it's not through any slackness on our behalf. We are working flat out and we want to make sure we get this as right as we possibly can.

"We are going in with a completely open mind and we want a man who is going to be successful. You look at their whole psyche to see their experience, their energy and their knowledge."
