Brisbane’s Zullo targets winning run home

Brisbane Roar utility Michael Zullo is targeting some late season wins so the club can push for a finals finish in the A-League.

The Roar currently find themselves eighth on the league table, four points behind sixth-placed Perth Glory, and will need some favorable results in the next four weeks to qualify for the 2009/10 play-offs which Zullo is clearly aware of.

“I think it’s coming to the stage of the season where they are all must win games,” Zullo said.

“Any other result apart from a victory is not good enough.”

Brisbane face 9th-placed North Queensland Fur in Townsville this Saturday before they take on 2nd-placed Sydney FC at home, Perth Glory (6th) and Adelaide United (10th) both away in the final four matches of the home and away season and Zullo has targeted at least three wins in the run home.

“We need to win at least three of the next four, if not all of them, and it has to start this weekend,” the 21-year old added.

“We need to start getting those points now, or else in a couple of weeks, the six will be out of touch and that’s it, our season will be over.

“None of us want to lose to another Queensland team,” he said about this weekend’s match.

“I think everyone is taking it very seriously, and like I said, we need three points.”
